Hey You, Try Again

Alyssa, my dear. Some days everything seems so bleak.  Realize that life doesn't always come with glamour and sparkles. It can be still and confusing. When these days happen and it may seem easier to look at the downside, think again. Think of the accomplishments you have made and the goals that became realities. You're the girl who managed. You found ways to cope. So hush those negative thoughts for now.

You are experiencing all of life.

You have accomplished more than you know. I will remind you.

  • You rode horses and won barrel races at a young age
  • You joined the pageant world and won a trophy for having the best thank you/gratitude letter
  • You transferred schools and made friends.
  • You acted (Charlie And The Chocolate Factory)
    • You went to auditions
      • you even auditioned for Stepping Stone Theatre
  • You tried gymnastics
  • You tried sports, even track and field (pole vaulting)
  • You joined JROTC
  • You learned how to march, and lead a mile run while singing the ant song just so you had a cadence
  • You graduated high school
  • You graduated college
    • YOU GRADUATED COLLEGE during a PANDEMIC
  • You decided to move across the world and become an au pair (that's pretty damn brave)
  • You had a POEM published
  • You played cupid
  • You went to Chicago to see if Pre-Med was for you
    • You saw your first cadaver
  • You thought of becoming a marine
  • You became a teacher
    • FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL
      • YOU ROCKED being a teacher

Alyssa, YOU TRY! When others would have walked away. You try things, you know what you don't like, and hun you are still deciding what you do.

It's okay to not have a plan or to know.

Don't give up. Not yet, instead, try again. Try something new.

Take a leap...
