The comfort of a smile

Some days all you do is chase a smile. 

Today I smile, because I know what I have.

I have you. 

I have the girl who stands in the mirror and holds the weight of the world on her shoulders but still manages to carry on.

I have a girl who is genuinely happy for her friends and looks forward to hearing every single intricate detail from their nights out.

I have a girl who when the weather changes and the all-consuming grey threatens the day with its sinister winds and somber tones, she will bake to her heart's content. 

I have a girl who knows the importance of a hug. The one where we lay on the kitchen floor, and just embrace one another. 

I have a best friend within a mother. 

I have a sister within a best friend. 

I have a protector within a brother. 

I smile because I know I have it all. I have everything. 

I have had endless nights of dancing.

I have had a boy standing at my door with flowers. 

I have had you put my needs before your own.

I have the chance to travel.

To the rainbow that appeared today. It gave me the strength to go out for a walk, instead of staying huddled under the covers.

Thank you for the reminders.

There are times when I have a kinetic effect on others around me. Today I was reminded of that energy. I have it in me always, it just is I don't allow myself to be admissible to this effect. 

To the strangers, to the smiles, to the wild ride I chase. 

To the moments that find me. 

I had that moment while waiting for the light to change. He walked past in such a way that I couldn't help but have my gaze trail upon him, he turned his head and he felt it too. For a second we had the kinetic effect. 

Today I smile because I realize just how lucky I am.
