Itinerary:
Thursday Arrived to Edinburgh
- 10:00 am Napier University Creative Advertising
- Lecture w/ Adrian Carroll of D8
- Discussing case studies
- Worked with companies such as Nike, Spotify, and BBC
- 1:00 pm walk to High Street Hostel
- On Blackfriars Street, right next to the Royal Mile. $20-25 (pounds) a night
- Great accommodation, plans events for guests so they can mingle and socialize with other hostel guests
- Check-in was at 3 p.m., but they allowed you to use the lounge and reception area to relax
- took a nap since previously had been up for 24 hrs
- After getting a little shut-eye, wandered around a bit. Stopped into the pub Scotsman Lounge in Old Town. Great drinks, friendly bartenders, and amazing live music. Wonderful atmosphere!
- Back to the hostel, and went out the town that night. Lost my favorite denim jacket :(
- Headed to bed
Friday
- Breakfast at a cute little bakery had coffee and spanakopita on the Royal mile
- Decided to go for a little walk... which turned into a HIKE up Arthur's seat.
- After Arthur seat took tea at the Holyroodhouse
- Took a tour of the Holyroodhouse, absolutely divine inside. About a 1 hr 30 min tour.
- Went to dinner at the OUTSIDER, The venison was absolute heaven as were the mussels
- Ended the evening on Victoria Street at Maison Bleue Restaurant, the atmosphere was warm and cozy
Saturday ( OUTLANDER TOUR)
8:30 am - 5:30pm ($55-70) Pounds I went on the Greyline Scotland tour with BRIAN :)
- Falkland- The stand-in for INVERNESS and where Claire and Frank honeymoon.
- Highly recommend the gift shop of Fayre Earth, wonderful artwork by locals
- Culross- This 16th-century village poses as Cranemuir in Outlander
- Also, the place where Jaime helps the boy break free from the post
- Gailes Duncan's house
- The views are stunning, right on the water
- Linlithgow Palace- The birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and Wentworth Prison in the show
- Where we took lunch ( highly recommend the deli TASTE: try the haggis panini delicious)
- Blackness Castle - Located on the banks of the Firth of Forth, it's also Fort William in the show
- Ended the tour at Midhope Castle - this is Jamie's family home, Lallybroch
This was a trip of a lifetime! I highly recommend especially if you happen to be an Outlander fan!
Sunday - Check out of High Street Hostel
- Took a train from Edinburgh to Glasgow (14.50 Pounds)
- Walked around Glasgow, and definitely checked out the beautiful artwork and parks by the river
- Decided to head to Saint Andrew's, and took a stagecoach (11.00 pounds) from Glasgow to St.Andrews (3 hrs) But a great way to see more of Scotland
- Check out the land of golf, beautiful greens, and course
- Also, make sure to head to the beach and watch the surfers
- Ended the trip with a classic Fish and Chips from Cromars
- Got the stagecoach bus to Edinburgh Airport and headed back to London
